This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.1 AA standard, due to the non-compliances listed below:
There may be non-accessible content on parts of the website:
Non-compliance with the accessibility regulations
• Images uploaded to the site before 2018 may not have alt tags or captions. This fails WCAG 2.1 success criterion 1.1.1 (non-text content).
• We will correct insufficient or needed alt-text over time as we review sections of the site. When we publish new content we’ll make sure our use of images meets accessibility standards.
Content that’s not within the scope of the accessibility regulations
PDFs and other documents
There may be some PDFs and Word documents on the site which are inaccessible. Wherever possible, we will provide accessible alternatives.
Embedded clips from YouTube
When embedding YouTube content, it automatically generates non-compliant HTML5 code. Linked film clips will not function without the non-compliant code.
Preparation of this accessibility statement
This statement was updated on 04/06/2021. It was last reviewed on 04/06/2021.
This website was last tested in April 2021. The test was carried out by Prodo Digital.
The audit involved testing an instance each of the main templates used on the site to ensure all types of content were reviewed.
We ran each template through Google's Lighthouse tool as well as using an additional browser tool to assess the templates against AA standards.
Testing is carried out on a per template basis using Google’s Lighthouse accessibility tool which measures against a number of categories.
Whilst this is an automated tool, a number of further tests needed to be carried out manually. The full list of accessibility tests carried out, both automated and manual, can be found here.
