During this period of isolation, many of our staff are unable to carry out their normal work. We’re still busy though - over 70 employees have volunteered to help support our most vulnerable residents.
It all starts with a phone call. Our befriending service launched last week. We’ve called over 500 residents to check that they are ok and have everything they need to stay safe and well during the current restrictions on going out.
Understandably, at the moment, lots of people can’t get out at all, so we’re working with local groups including Mustard Tree, The Bread and Butter Thing and Chatterbox to help make sure that people have everything they need. Their food banks are a vital resource, supplying food to those people unable to go shopping.
Some of our staff are ‘’moonlighting’’ as delivery drivers – helping to get food parcels to people who need them.
So many more people need help than usual and it’s vital that local food banks are well stocked with essential supplies.
Help us
To help keep those shelves full, we’ve set up a Just Giving page. All donations will go directly to local charitable organisations, helping to keep our most vulnerable neighbours safe and well until we get to the other side!
