Board responsibilities

Our board makes our policies and plans, sets our wider aims and objectives, and makes sure that the staff working day-to-day are meeting standards of service and improvement.

Its responsibilities include:

  • agreeing (with the Council) a yearly plan for running the housing service
  • devising ways to meet this plan and other objectives
  • deciding policies and defining our vision and values
  • making sure the budget and accounts are in order
  • deciding who is responsible for what, and making sure things get done
  • making sure we keep to plans and budgets, and correct any under-performance
  • checking that services are efficient, effective and value for money
  • ensuring that Northwards Housing continually improves
