The Baha'i faith

The central teaching is the unity of the human race.

The Baha'i faith originated in Persia in 1844.

Baha'is believe that its founder, Baha'u'llah (Arabic meaning "Glory of God") is the most recent Messenger of God in a succession that includes Abraham, Krishna, Moses, Zoroaster, Buddha, Jesus, Muhammad, and The Bab.

The central teaching of the Baha'i faith is unity of the human race. Other main principles are:

  • independent investigation of the truth
  • the Oneness of God
  • the Oneness of Religion
  • the Oneness of Mankind
  • elimination of all forms of prejudice
  • equality of men and women
  • spiritual solutions to world problems
Festivals
  • Feast of Naw Ruz Baha'i New Year.
  • Festival of Ridvan Celebrates Baha' u'llah's time in the garden of Ridvan and his announcement that he was the Prophet promised by The Bab.
  • Anniversary of the Declaration of The Bap Celebrates the day The Bab declared his mission to prepare the world for the coming of Baha'u'llah's.
