Do you have a rehousing application with Northwards? If so – the following information will apply to you.
Northwards use the Manchester City Council allocations policy to allocate all its homes. A new policy has been agreed by the City Council and the new rules will be in place from February 2011. In the new policy, you will go into one of six new rehousing bands depending on your circumstances. The higher the band, the more chance you have of getting a home.
What does this mean for you if you are already registered?
As you are already registered on the Manchester Housing Register, your rehousing application has been reprioritised against the new allocations scheme. Manchester City Council will be sending out documents to you from the end of January 2011 to advise you on your new priority band.
If you wish to discuss your banding then you need to make sure you contact the relevant team within the letter that has been sent to you.
What does this mean for you if you are not registered?
If you are thinking of applying to join the Manchester Housing Register you can still do this either online or by requesting a rehousing application pack. However, please note that due to the new allocations scheme, the application form is changing and, as a result, application packs are unlikely to be sent out until towards the end of February 2011.
If your rehousing case is urgent, please contact us and we can discuss individual cases. You will not lose any waiting time by having to wait for your application pack, as once you contact us we will calculate your date from that day.
