We know that moving home can be a really big decision, especially if you've lived in your property for a long time. That's why we're here to listen and to help you talk it through. First off, you can call Frances, our Housing Options Officer. She can arrange a time to talk over your thoughts, about why you want to move, where you might want to move to, and what sort of property you'd like.

How we can help?

We can assess your individual needs and look at your options. No false promises. No pressure. Just straightforward information and advice that could make a real difference. We will register your application and award you the right priority. For many of you, this will mean that we can offer Group 1, the highest priority available under Manchester City Council's allocations policy.

We'll also keep you informed about what is happening with your application. And show you how to keep a track on Manchester's Homefinder website.

We can even help to make your move as easy as possible. We can help you to:

  • disconnect and reconnect your appliances
  • disconnection and reconnect of satellite TV
  • redecorate your new home
  • remove any unwanted furniture
  • pack and move
  • choose and fit new carpets

Also, our Housing Options Officer will be there to support you throughout the whole move.

The home that you leave will be allocated to a family that is living in overcrowded conditions. So your move will also be helping people to start a new life to in a bigger, better house.

Extra care housing

We're working with Manchester City Council to develop one of our tower blocks in Charlestown. This major development will create 91 completely refurbished apartments for tenants who are over 55. The block will also be modernised, to include the latest security, plus an in-house day centre for all kinds of group-meets and activities. Find out more on our Extra care housing page.
