Who does what?

IMPACT Manchester

We have teamed-up with a group of building companies to improve every Northwards home. They belong to a partnership called Impact Manchester.

Manchester City Council set up Impact Manchester to take on the massive package of home improvements to the city's council homes after they were transferred to new not-for-profit companies like Northwards.

Impact is governed by Northwards Housing and other new housing companies: Parkway Green Housing Trust (running ex-council homes in Wythenshawe); Southway Housing Trust (in south Manchester); City South Manchester Housing Trust (covering inner south Manchester); and Eastland Homes (in east Manchester). So they're answerable to organisations that were specially set up to deliver better homes and estates to local people.

The Northwards companies

There are six building companies in Impact; all chosen after a tough, competitive selection process because they offer top quality improvements and services at value for money.

Improvements in the Northwards area are being done by four of these companies in Impact. It's their vans and staff you'll see when improvements are being done on your home and estate. They are:

  • Kinetics (previously The Lord Group)
  • Manchester Working
  • G&J Seddon
  • Wates Living Space

Don't let anyone into your home without asking to see the caller's identity badge with their photo on. All Northwards staff carry ID; so do the workers from the building companies. They won't mind being asked to wait while you check it. If in doubt, don't let them in - contact us for advice.

Our home improvement teams make sure these companies meet your high standards and that they address tenants' concerns. We monitor the companies' performance to make sure they meet the high standards you demand.
