Tenants and residents who are eligible for the Northwards Xtra scheme automatically go into regular cash prize draws, and can enter regular competitions in the Northwards Natter newsletter and on the Northwards phone app.
Here are the terms, conditions and rules
1. Northwards Xtra is open to secure tenants and leaseholders. Introductory tenants will automatically become eligible after 12 months. Board Members and Northwards employees are excluded from entry.
2. To be automatically entered into the free prize draws and to be eligible to enter the competitions, tenants and leaseholders must:
a. Have a clear rent account or service charge account at the time the prize draw takes place. If a tenant is in arrears the rent arrears must be less than £150. If a leaseholder is in arrears with service charges they must be no more than two quarter payments behind. A regular repayment plan must be in place with repayments having been made for at least eight weeks if appropriate at the time of the draw.
b. Keep to a regular payment plan to clear outstanding rechargeable repairs or similar charges for at least eight weeks if the charge is less than £150. Tenants owing more than £150 will be ineligible.
c. Prize draw winners of cash prizes will be expected to clear any debt owed to Northwards Housing. This will be deducted automatically from the prize prior to it being issued to the winner.
d. Tenants or leaseholders with outstanding Housing Benefit claims will automatically be entered into each cash prize draw, even if their account is in arrears. The cash prizes will only be paid once the Housing Benefit claim has been assessed and any backdated benefit is paid. This is to ensure that the eligibility criteria are met. In the event that housing benefit is not fully backdated to cover all of the arrears Northwards will exercise its discretion on whether to still award a prize, subject to the arrears being cleared with all or part of the prize money. Northwards decision is final.
e. There must be no current legal action in place for the recovery of rent arrears or for other breaches in tenancy conditions e.g. untidy garden
f. There must be no breaches in tenancy for anti-social behaviour by any members of the household, including visitors. Cases currently under investigation will be excluded providing there is evidence to support the allegation. The civil standard of proof will apply.
g. The winners of the prize draws and competitions must agree to take part in promotional publicity, including photographs which will appear in the Northwards Natter.
3. Phone app competition winners must either be Northwards tenants or currently residing in the household of a Northwards tenant. In the case of the latter, you must have lived in the household for at least six months, and you must be able to provide proof of your address, e.g. letters, bills etc.
