We’ve recently completed our latest window installation scheme, in which every PVC-U window frame was recycled.
We completed the pioneering refurbishment program in March after installing the windows in 18 Corris Avenue properties (in Higher Blackley). Thanks to advances in PVC-U technology, all the frames are made from 98 per cent recycled material. This represents a first for the social housing sector
Elliot Simm, our Home Improvement Service Manager, said, “We have two main priorities. To improve the properties that we manage to make them a more comfortable and secure home environment for our residents. And second, to manage and maintain these properties in an economically-friendly way. This on-going project is testimony to our commitment to drive ‘green’ practices throughout our estates. More widely, we believe that it represents a significant step forward for sustainability in refurbishment for social housing.”
Led by contractor, Manchester Working, the windows were fitted with the help of our other partners, Wrekin Windows and New Charter.
