Northwards Wardens spoke at a prestigious national conference looking at how housing organisations can help migrant workers and refugees settle into their new communities.
Warden manager Tony Dalton, along with wardens Magdalena Rupiewska and Alex Boddy, addressed colleagues from across the country about the work being undertaken by Northwards Wardens with new arrivals in North Manchester - Polish migrant workers in particular. The conference, ''Community Cohesion'', was organised by the Chartered Institute of Housing and took place in London on 11th Oct 2007. Tony said ''This was a really good opportunity for us to share our experiences with colleagues - and to pick up some useful tips along the way. This is a really important area of work for us - the Northwards Wardens serve all members of the community and that includes newer arrivals. Hopefully attending this kind of event will help us and other organisations improve the service we offer to everyone.''
