Manchester celebrated the contribution of its older residents once again this Autumn with the launch of the sixth annual Valuing Older People (VOP) event.
And Northwards got in on the act with a whole range of activities for our city’s more mature residents!
The crowds sang their hearts out at our over-60s ‘Karaoke Crazy’ afternoon at the Broadmoss Centre, where there was a free prize draw and delicious hot pot and pie lunch.
Speaking of that classic Rovers’ Return delicacy, there was also a special Hot Pot Lunch Singalong at Harry Piggot Court, which also played host to a Fish and Chips Singalong too! Over the two events, local residents got to tuck into tasty grub while enjoying organ music, poetry and jokes.
Annie Darby Court kept the party swinging with dancing, bingo and a quiz at their ‘Full of Life Celebration’ evening, while George Halstead Court enjoyed a magnificent multi-cultural show, dazzling residents with tai chi displays, African drumming performances and henna hand painting.
