Make the most of the sunshine this weekend with fantastic summer extravaganzas in two north Manchester parks.
First up, there’s no need to run away to join the circus thanks to the free ‘Blackley Midsummer Madness’ event at Plant Hill Park on Saturday (26 June), from 1-5pm.
Not only will there be some spectacular big top-style acts on show, featuring trapeze artists, stilt-walkers and fire-jugglers, but you can also try your hand at mastering circus skills yourself!
Workshops in juggling, stilt walking, plate spinning and more will give all-comers the chance to learn impressive new talents.
Other highlights include a free 'first come first served' clown barbecue, a soccer skills session led by Manchester City FC in the Community and street dance routines.
Then on Sunday (27 June), why not head over to Crumpsall Park for a ‘Brazil’-iant time as its free annual carnival dances to a samba beat?
The parade starts from Herristone Park at 12.30pm, wending its way to the Park where the main event runs from 1-5pm.
Attractions include a samba band, Crumpsall Concert Band, stalls including some selling international food, live entertainment and a fairground. There is also a Valuing Older People marquee providing free entertainment and refreshments. Football coaching sessions will also be on offer for anyone who wants to kick it like Kaka!
