Respect Action is about building and sustaining communities where people can live peacefully

A ten-week campaign is tackling crime and antisocial behaviour in Cheetham Hill.

The Respect Action Neighbourhood campaign, that kicked off on 19 January 2009, is a partnership between Northwards, the police, Manchester City Council and other agencies in the city’s Crime and Disorder Reduction Partnership.

If you live in the area, someone from the project will knock on your door to ask your views on local problems. Don't let anyone into your home without asking to see the caller's identity badge with their photo on.

We’ll collect all the comments together into one report that will highlight where we need to take action.

On patrol

You’ll see more Northwards officers on the streets in the evenings and at weekends – times when crime and disorder can increase. Talk to them about the particular problems in your area.

Our local office at 549 Cheetham Hill Road is opening for young people to drop in and talk about crime and disorder on Tuesday evenings. Look out for more details soon. Or contact Julie Goreham on 0161 720 4053. Or email j.goreham@northwardshousing.co.uk.
