Recycled teenagers celebrate 30 years!

Pensioners from Edward Grant Court

A lively group of pensioners from Edward Grant Court in Harpurhey have had a big birthday bash - celebrating 30 years since the popular retirement block was first built.

The party food, drinks and dancing were in full flow, helped along by our favourite DJ and neighbourhood warden, Ernie Heyes spinning the party tunes.

Northwards' principal warden, Pat Scappaticci said, "You know, it truly is a buzzing place to live. There's something going on all the time, thanks to the brilliant staff and tenants. In its 30 years Edward Grant Court has seen some real characters - we're really proud of the service we provide and the diversity of the people there."

Rock and roll!

One of the residents, known only as 'Elvis', said, "We love living here and we love to rock and roll. It's as simple as that."

Northwards Housing chair, Ade Alao said, "It's great when our tenants get together like this. We wish Edward Grant Court many happy returns and many more parties!"

Edward Grant Court is home to 30 tenants all over the age of 60. The folks there live independently, but can also call on extra help from the wardens if they want it - like laundry facilities, social activities and a secure 24 hour call system.
