Paris has designs on our Christmas Card!

Northwards Housing visited four secondary schools in north Manchester last month to give them a festive, creative Christmas challenge . . . to design Northwards' corporate Christmas card.

Ian Gillett, from the Northwards'  wardens, "We did it earlier in the year, when we ran a competition with the local primary school to design our corporate mouse mats. It was great fun, and in my opinion you can't get better than young people's artistic creativity - they seem to know no bounds . . ."

The schools taking part in the Christmas card competition were North Manchester High School for Boys and North Manchester High School for Girls, both in Moston.

Over 50 of the pupil's Christmas card designs were sent to the Northwards tenants and staff on the judging panel. It was agreed that Paris Caine, aged 11, from North Manchester High School for Girls had designed the winning card.

One of the judges, Nichola White said: "The picture that Paris designed really stood out to us - it's fun, festive and certainly got us in the mood for Christmas!"

Louise Mitchell and Ian Gillett from Northwards Housing presented schoolgirl Paris with the final design of the card and £50 cash along with a cheque for £150 for her school.
