Northwards
Housing have reached the final of the National Federation of ALMOs
(NFA) annual awards!
The NFA awards
recognise and celebrate the hard work and achievements of ALMOs
(Arms Length Management Organisations), tenants and resident groups.
We were shortlisted in two
categories:
Most innovative project:
Safe, Sound, off the Ground is a campaign to raise awareness
about making life difficult for burglars.
Living in a high-rise apartment poses different risks to living in a
house. Safe, Sound, off the
Ground was thought up by our proactive High Rise Living Forum
who were tired of strangers coming into the blocks and concerned
about some of their older neighbours. Tenants worked closely with
the Northwards Wardens to develop the campaign using posters, key
rings and intercom stickers to spread their important message.

The app is multi purpose so tenants can use it to report repairs and
anti-social behaviour at any time, day or night. They can also
attach photos taken on their smartphone. The app encourages tenants
to take part in competitions and get involved with Northwards. They
can also use it to set rent reminders and budget living costs.
