New service provider for building maintenance, repair and construction works.

From 1 September 2006 a new Joint Venture Company named Manchester Working will carry out a large proportion of the building maintenance, repair and construction works that have previously been undertaken by City Works.

Northwards Housing is joining in a new partnership deal with the new and exciting Manchester Working Limited in order to deliver a programme of improvements to council homes in North Manchester, gas and lift servicing and day to day repairs.

Chair of Northwards Housing Board, Ade Alao said:
"This is a major achievement to develop a successful modern long term partnership to deliver excellent home improvements and repairs service to North Manchester tenants"

Manchester Working Limited is itself a new partnership which builds on the skills of Manchester City Council's workforce and adds the commercial expertise and ability of Morrisons Facilities Services.

Morrison Facilities Services Director and the Managing Director of Manchester Working Limited Bill Coghill said:
"Northwards Housing Limited is driven by its determination to deliver best value services to its residents and we are equally ambitious in our aspirations. We want the people of Manchester to receive the best housing service in the country.
