Big say: the National Conversation is the country's biggest-ever tenants' consultation event
Do you want to have a say in setting the standards all not-for-profit housing organisations should meet?
A new government body has launched its 'National Conversation' to give you - and tenants across the country – the chance to do just that.
The Tenant Services Authority (TSA) monitors the performance of housing associations to check that they’re up to scratch. From spring 2010 it’s due to take on the same role for councils and ‘arms length management organisations’ like Northwards too.
The National Conversation – the country’s biggest-ever tenant consultation exercise – will help set the benchmark that we should reach, and the targets we should aim for. The TSA will use the new standards to monitor how well we - and all the other organisations - perform when we deliver our services to you. They'll check that we're improving the way we work too.
This exciting project kicked off on Monday 19 January 2009. There'll be major events across the country including:
You can print off details of both events here. Fill in the form to apply for a place. But hurry. The closing date for applications for the national event is Friday 23 January 2009.

If you ask to go to the national event, and it’s overbooked, we may ask you to go to the Northwards event instead.
Local conversations don’t have to be formal – it could be a group of tenants getting together over a cup of tea in somebody’s home or in a community centre. If you want to organise your own event you can order a special resource pack on the TSA’s national conversation website.
