It is with sadness that we announce that Ivy Graham, highly-valued and much-loved member of countless community groups, has passed away.
Ivy, a member of the Northwards Riverways area panel, was a kind, caring and unique individual, always thinking of others and keen to help in the all areas of the community. She put her heart and soul into helping those around her, to the very end.
If it helped the local area you could count on Ivy being involved. Amongst many other groups and accolades, Ivy was a founder member of Newton Heath Community Centre and chairperson of the Tenants and Residents association in Troydale for many years. Not only was Ivy a fantastic professional, but she was also a friend and confidante to all those who had the pleasure of meeting her. Her great sense of humour would always help you look on the bright side of life.
Affectionately described by her many friends as being the "salt of the earth", Ivy left a legacy behind, proving that no matter how old you are or what disabilities you have, you can be a community hero. Ivy was a fantastic role model to everybody and will be sadly missed by all. Serving both her local community and the city of Manchester, her kind contribution and caring heart will always be remembered.
