Hot on the wheels of ASB!

New police car
The launch of a brand new police vehicle in Newton Heath

We were in Newton Heath this week to support the launch of a brand new police vehicle, dedicated to targeting anti-social behaviour (ASB). It's the first of its kind in Manchester and means that together we can tackle ASB and criminal damage head on!

Emma Foster, Monsall Local Services Manager said: "The car is a worthy investment for us. Anti-social behaviour is a problem in Newton Heath and we know that this partnership will really help the situation."

The car's only purpose is to reduce ASB through high visibility patrols, targeting local hotspots and finding the people who repeatedly commit these crimes.

Inspector Steve Macfarlane said: "This sponsorship is an excellent example of a successful working partnership. The support from Northwards Housing, and this vehicle, will enable us to attend incidents of anti social behaviour across the Newton Heath area. Our aim is to reduce incidents of anti social behaviour and criminal damage with a view to improving the quality of life for residents."
