After a successful trial period, our 'handyman' service is now available to all tenants and leaseholders who need help with their DIY work!
‘Northwards Helping Hands’ launches across north Manchester from Sunday 1st July 2012 to help residents with a wide variety of home maintenance jobs; from decorating and laying laminate flooring to assembling flat-pack furniture and putting up shelves and cabinets.
The service, which we've been trialling in Moston and Charlestown for the last three months, can help and support those tenants and leaseholders who struggle with DIY or are not eligible for Manchester Care and Repair’s free handyperson service for the over 60s.
Larry Patrick, Director of Property Services said: “This new service will give our tenants and leaseholders the opportunity to bring a trusted repairer into their home to properly carry out those odd jobs that need doing, and all at a reasonable price.“
The service costs £17+VAT per hour (i.e. £20.40), so to make the most of the help and get value for money, we recommend using the service when you have a number of different jobs that need doing.
