The festive folks at Manchester Working are playing Father Christmas this year by treating older Northwards Housing tenants to free festive hamper gifts and goodies.
Manchester Working are the people who carry out all the repair and maintenance works to the homes of Northwards Housing tenants - and the older folks they are treating all live in Northwards' twelve sheltered housing schemes across north Manchester.
The director of Manchester Working, Bill Coghill said, "We're delighted to be donating these hampers and really hope that the residents of Northwards sheltered housing schemes have a cracking Christmas."
The bumper hampers include: bottles of port and sherry, Christmas cakes, boxes of chocolates and biscuits, nuts and dried fruits and packs of mince pies - all enough for the residents to share.
The sheltered schemes getting the hampers are Edward Grant Court, Sir Robert Thomas Court, Annie Darby Court, Apprentice Court, Joseph Dean Court and Victoria Square, George Halstead Court, Liverton Court, Harry Pigott Court, Whitemoss Gardens, Duncan Edward Court and Dobson Court.
Helen O'Donovan from Northwards Housing looks after the sheltered schemes says . . ."Our older tenants really appreciate this kind gesture from Manchester Working - depending on their personal situations, it could be one of the few treats they get this Christmas. It's good and right to value the older generation in the area."
