We are delighted to announce that Northwards Housing has once again been named one of the Top 100 Not-For-Profit Organisations to Work For!
This year we did even better, ranking 74th with another one star rating - an achievement we're particularly proud of because the number of organisations being ranked has gone up by 30%!
Not only that, but at a time when job losses and funding cuts have had a huge impact on the not-for-profit sector, some of our peers in social housing have significantly dropped down the list. For us to rise, even by just four places, is a great success.
Here's what Best Companies had to say about us this time:
"Birds aren't the only things tweeting on estates managed by Northwards Housing. The Manchester organisation, which looks after more than 13,000 homes on behalf of the City Council, communicates with tenants through Facebook, Twitter and even a smartphone app.
"There's a strong sense of family among the 312 employees (73% positive). It's also easy to be eco-friendly in this mid-sized body, which buys green energy (74%)."
Look out for the official list, which will be published in The Sunday Times next month.
And if you would like to work for Northwards, keep an eye on our Career's page!
* As well as the rankings, Best Companies use an additional 'Star Status' system to recognise excellence. One star = first class, two stars = outstanding, three stars = extraordinary and those companies who narrowly miss out on star status are listed as 'ones to watch'.
