Northwards has become the UK’s first social landlord to launch a multi-purpose smartphone app, giving tenants an easy way of contacting us!
The app is free to download for iPhone and Android users. You can use it to report repairs and anti-social behaviour, take part in competitions, set rent reminders and budget living costs, all at the touch of a button.
It lets you make reports at any time, day or night, and also attach photographs taken on your phone!
Working with Panda Media, we made the app to make life easier for tenants and give you all another simple way of contacting us. This website already lets you do things like reporting repairs, but we know that not everyone has a computer at home.
Smartphones, however, are fast becoming the standard for mobile phones, and are affordable too! As more and more of you get hold of these kinds of phones, our app will be there to let you communicate with us quickly and simply.
We launched the app at a special event last week where Panda Media came to unveil the app to tenants. We got a fantastic response from everyone who attended!
Tenant Steven Purcell said: "I recently had a repair and I didn't know what needed doing. The operative came, but he didn't have the right tools for the job. The app will help to avoid this kind of situation, because I can just take a picture on my phone of whatever the problem is and send it with my report. It's ideal."
To thank people for attending, we held a prize draw to win a set of top-of-the-range headphones, and Northwards tenant Duncan Simms was the lucky winner! He said: "I was up till the small hours listening to everything on my phone, astounded by the audio quality. These headphones were clearly chosen by a music lover! I thank you, and my ears thank you too."
The app is available to download from the Android Market and the iPhone App Store.
