clean-up alleyways

Litter strewn alleyways in Blackley have been tidied up by the Community Payback Team after residents told us about their concerns.

Upon receiving reports from residents about the poor condition of the alleys between Heathbank Road and Victoria Avenue, we arranged for the Community Payback Team to spend four days cleaning them out.

By working with the team to get untidy areas looking presentable again, we’re not just getting the problem fixed free of charge - we’re also helping offenders to put something back into our community.

Mike Stevens, our Director of Neighbourhood Services said: “Improving the environment is one of our top priorities, but it's not just about work we do ourselves. We work with colleagues in organisations such as the Council and Community Payback to find solutions to problems which residents tell us about. It's all about working together to make north Manchester a cleaner, greener place.”
