Q14 My bathroom is so small that a decent sized bath cannot be fitted, and when I asked about a shower only to be fitted (with cubicle), I was told no way. It seems a waste to supply a bath that will not be used.
B Kings Ranby Avenue Blackley

A As part of the improvement works, if you decide to have a new bathroom we will look at possible redesign to accommodate a standard bath. Even if a larger bath cannot be accommodated you will receive an over bath shower with rail and curtain.
Richard Lockwood, Chair Property & Procurement Sub Committee

Q13 Please could you tell me when I will get a new Front Door, it's a disgrace. I have had two inspectors telling me I need a new door, but can't say when I will get it. I can't even put a decent buzzer on the door and need a new door desperately!

Q11 Why is there a building site outside my front door? The noise, mess and the shaking of my house is making me very nervous and frightened.
Anonymous

A Northwards Housing have investigated this matter and we currently have no sites in this area, however the development next to Gartland Walk is by Redrow Homes. Phase one of the development is complete, (phase 2 is due for completion by November/December); and Phase 3 (apartments on frontage of Crescent Rd) planned in the New Year. Redrow Homes have said that they are trying to keep disruption to local residents to a minimum and that they will speak to the site managers to ensure compliance with the site restrictions imposed on them e.g. keeping the area tidy and the site working times. Future queries can be sent to Redrow Homes Contact: Stuart Binks - tel 01772 643700 or write to Redrow Homes, Priory Court, Wellfied Road, Preston Brook, Cheshire WA7 3FR.

Q9 When is the area off Lightbowne Road or Brendon Avenue going to come into the equation for home improvements? As one minute we were told the houses were being sold off to a Housing Association. Next thing it fell through, next thing we hear something else. We don't know where we stand.

Q8 White Moss Gardens, Blackley is Sheltered Accommodation. The Woodwork is aged and it was doubled glazed until a few years ago when sand blasting on the extension walls 'blew' the vacuum on our double glazing. Will we qualify for new windows and doors under this new scheme? There are 28 residences here.
Mrs Mechan White Moss Gardens Blackley

A Yes - in the past windows were replaced with double glazed units when they were beyond repair. All existing single glazed will be replaced with new uPVC double glazed windows and any failed double glazed units will be replaced. All information on the 5 year investment programme will be placed on the Northwards web site later this year.
