Are you a people person? Can you support and guide a team of volunteers to reach their goals?
Northwards Housing manages over 13,000 City Council homes in Manchester. We’re looking for an Independent Mentor to support and guide ‘Tenants’ View’, our tenant scrutiny panel.
It’s an opportunity to develop and put your mentoring skills to good use and build your portfolio of experience working with tenants by giving something back that will improve services.
You will assist the group to carry out three or four scrutiny exercises a year, ideally bringing with you knowledge of tenant involvement and empowerment, with particular reference to tenant scrutiny.
You must be eager to share your skills and knowledge to help develop others, and be able to support the group to learn, collaborate, analyse and rigorously question complex issues in order to make balanced and reasonable judgements.
The time commitment for this voluntary position is the equivalent of up to two working days per month and all out-of-pocket expenses will be covered.
If you’re interested in taking the next step and helping our tenants to make a real difference to social housing in north Manchester, get in touch to find out more. Email firstname.lastname@example.org or call Emma on 0161 720 5823. Closing date: Friday 27 October 2017.
