Caring for your estate

A decent environment means a better quality of life for local people.

A well-cared-for estate gives people a pride in their area and encourages new tenants to move there. You can help by keeping your garden tidy - we'll do our part by caring for your estate as a whole.

Environment officers

Our environment officers spend most of their day working on your estate talking to local people, watching out for problems and putting things right quickly.

They look out for things like broken lights, damaged fences or empty homes - and report the problems back to the right people to get things sorted out quickly.

Look out for them in their Northwards jackets. Let them know if there's a local problem we should be putting right.

Is there a problem on your estate? Report it online.

Caretakers

If you live in a flat you may have a caretaker who keeps the communal areas clean and tidy. If you spot a problem, report it to the caretaker. If you live in a flat without a caretaker, your block may benefit from a weekly visit from our 'mobile caretaking service'. Again report any problems directly to the workers. Contact us to find out when the service comes to your block.

Is there a problem in your block. report it online now!

Standards you can expect

The standards you can expect are explained in our leaflets 'Managing your neighbourhood' and 'Keeping your block clean and safe'.
