Where can I use the web?

Turn up, log on! There's free internet access at all our local offices

Lots of people now have the internet, but there are plenty of others who can't get online from the comfort of their own home.

We want our online services to be accessible to everyone - so there are plenty of places you can go to get a free connection to this website. Even if you're online at home yourself, perhaps you know someone who isn't connected yet? Although there are plenty of older people using the web now, the over 65s are less likely to have computers at home. Do you have an older friend or relative who would love to get on the web?

Here's where to go . . .

Any Manchester library

Almost everyone in Manchester lives within a mile of a library. And all libraries have free access to the internet. Friendly staff will point you in the right direction. If you're a complete beginner you can even book on a free training course to get you going.

There are libraries in our area at: Higher Blackley, Crumpsall, Newton Heath, New Moston, North City (Harpurhey) and Miles Platting. See a full list of libraries, addresses and opening times on Manchester City Council's library location web page.

Our local housing offices

We've got special internet kiosks in our three local offices. You can log on to www.northwardshousing.co.uk and lots of other useful websites too. It's absolutely free! No need to book, just come along to:
