Our digital champion programme is going strong.

We started recruiting champs in August 2015 - we now have 12 tenants delivering digi drop in sessions all over north Manchester, they help people get to grips with using the internet and computers and tablets.

David volunteered with us as a digital champion for 18 months – he now has a full time job.

He volunteered at Whitebeck Court in Charlestown where he met Joe, who was keen to get online but wasn’t sure where to start.

Joe decided to buy himself a tablet, cheaper, more portable than a computer and ideal for beginners. The tablet he bought wasn’t working well - David noticed it had a cracked screen, so he took Joe back to the shop to complain.

“The tablet was very slow,” Joe told us, “I didn’t know what was wrong with it. David was very good, with his expertise he was able to explain the problem better than I could.”

Thanks to David stepping in to help the shop replaced the tablet free of charge.

We’re recruiting new digi champs now!

After 20 hours of volunteering you get your own iPad.

So if you’re a bit like David we want to hear from you! Contact Emma on 0161 720 5823 to find out more.
