As a business, we have recently undergone a full review of our property services proposition and, with some exciting capital projects written into 2017/2018, we are looking to strengthen our commercial and contractual management capability. To help us secure, future proof and support sustainable programme delivery, we are creating a new role of Senior Commercial Manager to lead a team including Quantity Surveyors and a Commercial Manager.
Reporting directly to the Head of Design & Delivery, this role will deputise and take a commercial lead on all sizes of contracts.
The successful candidate will have gained experience working in a similar position, ideally in a client-facing environment – knowledge and experience gained within the public sector would be beneficial.
The main responsibilities include liaising with all stakeholders to enable the commercial performance of all projects without delay. You will provide accurate cost advice and financial reporting, from tender analysis and comparisons through to preparing the recommendation report.
You will be responsible for ensuring that all projects are managed in accordance with the contract specification, that compliance is met, and that any risks and problems identified are resolved whilst meeting the required reporting deadlines. You will have extensive knowledge of JCT forms of contract and the ability to advise on contractual issues and dispute resolution methods.
You will have a proven track record of delivering high value planned maintenance and refurbishment projects. You will possess excellent analytical skills to make informed, balanced business decision and you will report findings to clients and stakeholders.
You will have a degree in Quantity Surveying or a similar discipline and be qualified MRICS.
