We have a vacancy for a part time Non-Residential Caretaker who will work flexibly and provide cover when required to other sites in the vicinity. The successful applicant will work Monday to Friday, 8am until 12pm, and some Saturday work will be required.
As Caretaker, you will be responsible for the day-to-day cleaning and general upkeep of our high-rise multi-storey blocks. You will also be required to manage all public areas to ensure they are clean, safe for our residents and visitors and do not present a fire hazard or other liability to Northwards Housing. Some minor cash handling may occasionally be involved.
You will be expected to deliver high-quality day-to-day cleaning of all communal areas within the scheme and maintain external areas such as the gardens and car park area. You will be required to manage health and safety issues both on a planned and reactive basis and identify, report and follow up outstanding repairs as required.
As the first point of contact with our residents, it is essential that you're friendly and approachable. You'll need experience of cleaning methods and practices, as well as a reasonable knowledge of health and safety issues relating to public buildings. Careful and reliable, we'll expect you to be punctual and work with minimum supervision to provide a high-quality, responsive and customer-focused service to our tenants. A degree of flexibility is an essential requirement.
