Additional Vacancy Information

Permanent role. Vacancy closes at 12noon on 2 March.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a new team of health professionals at Northwards Housing, working on behalf of all Housing Associations in north Manchester.

We are looking for a Housing Medical Assessment Officer to develop our work and ensure that we assist all our housing partner organisations in Manchester to make the best use of their adapted rented homes.

You will be part of a team which offers a customer focussed and dedicated service to all of our residents and housing partners in the city. You will give high quality advice and guidance to people looking to move to a more accessible or adapted home that meets their needs to enable them to live independently for longer at home.

Working within the Manchester Move team, you will visit customers in their homes and/or community to assess need and provide sound advice on rehousing options. As part of a great team that is passionate about making a difference, you will be enabling clients, especially those who are the most vulnerable, to make a huge difference to their lives.

You will be based north or south Manchester, with travel necessary across the city on a regular basis.

Reporting directly to the Occupational Therapist / Team Manager, this role will involve a partnership approach to meet the needs of housing organisations and rehousing applicants. You will work under your own initiative and manage your caseload. You will have a proven track record of delivering high quality customer service with effective and empathetic clinical advice.

You will have a nursing qualification such as an RGN or EN, or a diploma or degree in Occupational Therapy (or equivalent) and current registration with the Health Care Professionals Council.

The successful candidate will have gained experience working in a similar position, ideally in a customer facing role.

In addition to a competitive salary, you would also have the benefit of social hours of work, learning and development opportunities, birthday leave, flexible working, generous leave entitlement and access to the Greater Manchester Pension Scheme with life cover.
